Perhaps the largest obstacle to problem solving that I faced was my mental set. I believed that to be successful, I needed to attend large, competitive colleges. This ultimately effected how I approached colleges with slightly lower academic recognition, such as CSUs. However, I conquered my mental set, I applied to two CSUs, Sonoma State University and CSU Monterey Bay.
